Shauna Marie Whitlock

Shauna Marie Whitlock, 52, of Waldorf, Maryland, passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2021. She was born as Shauna Marie Curfew to parents Joan McGill and Rodney Curfew. Shauna was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She was an amazing mom and a pet parent to many dogs, cats, and at one time, a bunny. Shauna loved curling up on the couch and cuddling with her pets. She was a kind, loving, and compassionate friend to so many, and will be truly missed. Shauna enjoyed, boating, cooking, the beach, and getting dressed up to attend the Navy Ball. She was a huge fan of cooking shows and she and her husband, Ed, could often be found in the kitchen trying out new recipes together. Shauna married Edward Whitlock in 2002, and she proudly served as a Navy wife as Ed served his country. During the first 10 years of their marriage, Ed was often at sea for months at a time while Shauna stayed home to raise their three children. She was strong, independent, and graciously accepted the challenges that are sometimes presented of being a Navy wife. Shauna and Ed lived in several states throughout their marriage. She was great at organizing moves and creating a loving and warm home wherever they were. Shauna especially enjoyed family get-togethers, the holidays, and creating that special atmosphere. Shauna prided herself of being frugal and often shopped at thrift stores to find “deals”. She never liked to spend money on herself, but would give extravagant gifts to her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Ed, her son, Jake, her two daughters, Lauren and Leah, her sisters, Jenae Cassaday and Kendra Barnes, her mother, Joan McGill, her father, Rodney Curfew, and many nieces and nephews, as well as many other family members and close friends. She is predeceased by her brother, Kent Curfew. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Shauna’s Memorial Service on Friday, May 7, 2021. A family and friends “gathering” will be held from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., followed by a service at 3 p.m. Services are being held Raymond Funeral Service located at 5635 Washington Ave., La Plata, MD 20646. Shauna loved lilies and calla lilies more than any other flower, but she loved dogs and kittens even more. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society of Charles County, Maryland.
