Patricia Earlene Shughart

Patricia Earlene Shughart, 85, of La Plata, Maryland, passed away on Friday, October 15, 2021 at her home. Born on May 2, 1936 in Newport News, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late William Earl Hindle and Jacqueline Evelyn Pearson Hindle. Earlene was a life long resident of Charles County who was homemaker and worked in the cafeteria at Physicians Memorial Hospital in La Plata. She later worked as a Hostess for various area restaurants including the Holiday Inn Maryland Way Restaurant. She was a life member of the La Plata United Methodist Church and past member of the La Plata Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Earlene enjoyed doing crafts and ceramics, cooking and baking, especially for the firefighters at La Plat Volunteer Fire Department, watching old movies, but most of all, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her eldest son, William Earl Shughart. Earlene is survived by her children Jacqueline Evelyn Willett, Harry Orlin Shughart II, and Teena Yvonne Snider; grandchildren Kimberly D. Beswick, Krystle M. Rossignol, Samantha B. Murphy, Mackenzie S. Shughart, Marlena M. Chaney, Jessica L. Gliddon; great grandchildren Addison D. Beswick, Camrynn J. Beswick, Aubrey M. Rossignol, Kaitlyn O. Rossignol, Jordyn M. Gliddon, and Nathaniel S. Gliddon II; siblings Wayne Earl Hindle and D. Dian Lockamy; various cousins, other relatives and friends. A visitation will be held on Monday, October 25, 2021 from 2PM to 4PM and from 6PM to 8PM at the Raymond Funeral Service, P.A., 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, Maryland 20646. PLEASE NOTE THIS CHANGE: Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at 11AM at Raymond Funeral Service, P.A., 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, Maryland 20646 (SERVICE WILL NOT BE AT CHURCH). Interment to follow at Dentsville Methodist Cemetery in La Plata. Pallbearers are Harry Shughart II, John Pearson, Norman Garner, Andrew Rossignol, Neill Beswick and Eric Harris. Honorary Pallbearers are Tommy Swann, Dr. Howard Haft, Carl Combs, and Matt Gilroy. Memorial contributions in Earlene’s name may be made to the La Plata Volunteer Fire Department, Inc., P. O.
