Patricia "Pat" Ann Blanton

Patricia Ann Blanton, age 69, passed away peacefully at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC on Thursday, August 15, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 18, 1950 in Washington, DC to Robert and Lois (Patrick) Spicknall. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Spicknall; her sister, Debra Forsythe; and her son, Kevin Green. She was a 1968 graduate of Crossland High School. She worked as the Vice President of Electronic Banking at Maryland Bank & Trust/Old Line Bank. She was actively involved with the Catherine Foundation, Upward Sports, Kidz in Step Dance & Gymnastics, Island Angels, and was a Honor Queen JOB’s Daughters. Patricia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and loyal friend. She was faithful to Christ and her church. She served Hughesville Baptist, Marbury Baptist and most recently Cobb Island Baptist. Patricia actively served the Lord by leading those she knew and those she crossed paths with to know and accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Patricia loved spending time with her family and friends and supporting them with their endeavors. She enjoyed going on cruises and exploring new places. Every life she touched was aware of how much she loved her family. She is survived by her husband, Rev. Joseph Blanton; her mother, Lois (Patrick) Spicknall; a brother, Kenneth (Lori) Spicknall of Mary Esther, FL; her daughters, Cheryl (Brian) Raley of Lexington Park, MD and Jennifer (Matthew) Andrews-Smith of Covington, GA; her grandchildren, Blake Davis Andrews, Savannah Paige Raley, Alayna Marie Smith, and Colton Patrick Raley; her nieces and nephews, Shannon Spicknall, Kristine (Ryan) Walsh, Andrew (Stephanie) Spicknall, Tabitha (Jose) Martinez, Tara Forsythe, Tiffany Forsythe, and Kathleen Spicknall; her cousins David (Kathy) Patrick, Kathy (Tom) Schultz, Kelly Tallant, and Billy Wells; and other relatives, Lisa (Mark) Steckroth, Janet (Jon) Thume, Bud (Kristal), and Cassidy Tippett. Family and friends whose lives were touched by Patricia are invited to Raymond Funeral Service on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 for visitation from 5:00-8:00 PM with prayers at 7:00 PM. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at Raymond Funeral Service at 11:00 AM with burial to follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Waldorf, MD. All are welcome to join together at the Cobb Island Volunteer Fire Department for a light affair to celebrate the life of Patricia Ann Blanton. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cobb Island Baptist Church or Catherine Foundation.
