Patricia Ann Allen (née Sutton, also known as Patricia Ann Doctor), aged 71, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2024, in Waldorf, MD. Born on January 12, 1953, in Columbus, GA, Patricia’s life was a beautiful testament to love, dedication, and unwavering faith. Patricia was a proud graduate of Frank W. Ballou High School, where she showcased her vibrant spirit by running track and playing the clarinet. After her schooling, she dedicated her professional career to public service, retiring as a respected Program Analyst for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Her work positively impacted countless lives and reflected her deep-rooted commitment to making the world a better place. Throughout her life, Patricia found joy in many hobbies and pursuits. She was a skilled bowler in her younger years, an enthusiastic entrepreneur, and a devoted scrapbooker. Her passion for health and wellness inspired her to author two impactful books: Forbidden Fruit? More Like Prescription Fruit! – Keeps the Doctor Away! and Glucose GPS: Your Route to Balanced Health. A health advocate, Patricia was known for her dedication to promoting diabetes awareness and balanced living. Patricia was an active and cherished member of her church community, most recently Temple United Church, where her kind and generous spirit shines through her steadfast contributions and acts of charity. She was a servant of God, embodying the values of faith and compassion in all she did. She is lovingly remembered by her sons, Earl Allen (wife Alesia Allen) and Ethan Allen (wife Carnisa Allen); and her granddaughters, Chelsea Allen and Phoebe Allen, who were a source of pride and joy. Patricia also leaves behind her lifelong best friends, Barbara Saunders and Iris Gibson, who stood by her side through every chapter of life. Patricia was predeceased by her parents, Erritt Sutton and her stepfather Johnny Doctor Sr., whose memories she always carried in her heart. Patricia will be remembered as a kind, generous, and devoted woman who touched countless lives through her charity efforts, devotion to family, and unwavering passion for health and well-being. Her legacy will live on in the love she poured into her family, friends, and community. Patricia’s journey on earth may have ended, but her light, love, and lessons will continue to inspire all who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace, embraced by God’s love. Visitation will be on Saturday, November 9, 2024 from 9:30 AM until time of Service at 11:30 AM at Raymond Funeral Service, 5635 Washington Ave, La Plata, MD 20646. Interment will be private.
