Louis S. Diana

Louis S. Diana, 88 was ushered into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 29, 2015 at Sagepoint Gardens Assisted Living surrounded by his daughters and his best friend, Bob Ward. Louis was born February 5, 1927 in Camigliano, Italy to the late John Anthony and Angelina Audino Diana. He came to the United States at the age of 2. Louis worked at Mesta Machine in Pittsburgh, PA as a General Superintendent of the foundry before retiring in 1981. He and his wife Jean moved to Englewood, FL in 1986 and resided there till 2009 when they moved to La Plata. He was an active member of the Clark Senior Center where he made many great friends and enjoyed shooting pool. While residing at Sagepoint Gardens, he started a Bible Study group and prepared the lessons each week for their meetings. He chose the Bible lessons and music, and played the hymns on his harmonica. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Navy. He was a devoted lifelong fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Louis is survived by his loving wife Jean of 66 years; two daughters, Lorraine R. Diana and her husband Bob Guite and Jeanne and her husband Mark Smith; sister Antoinette Nolan, her husband John; grandson Keith Merranko and his wife Sarah and great-grandchildren, Julia and Andrew; grandsons Louis, Erik, Mike and Sean Diana, great grandchildren Stella and Evie. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, Mary Jo Bensasi, Paul Pcolinsky, David, John, Anne Nolan and Joan Thompson, sister-in-law LaVerne Constantini nieces Debbie, Becky, Terri and nephews Al and Ray; Sisters-in-law Ann Barni and Mary Donofrio, many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his very good friends, Janice Hamby, Debi Shanks and Bob Ward. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his son John Diana and sister Josephine Pcolinsky. A Memorial gathering will be on Saturday, October 17, 2015 from 2:00 PM until the time of service at 3:00 PM at Raymond Funeral Service, P.A., 5635 Washington Ave, La Plata, MD 20646.
