Laurie Reggettz

Laurie Marie Reggettz, 37, of Waldorf (and most recently Millersville, Md.), passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 16, 2007. Born September 22, 1970, at 11:22 a.m. in Cafritz Hospital, Washington, D.C., she was the beloved and only daughter of mother, Helen Glista Camper, and father, Steve Willard Reggettz. She is survived by her grandparents, Vincent and Jean Glista, and her grandmother Nellie Pettit Reggettz. Her grandfather, Paul Reggettz, preceded her in death. She is survived by numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. Laurie was a graduate of Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. She was formerly married to Robert Morris in Utah where they resided happily for 10 years. Her preschool years were spent in Maryland, then continued in Northern Virginia where she attended kindergarten through her high school graduation at Lake Braddock High School in Burke, Virginia. Laurie was an avid animal lover, especially dogs. Her little Shih Tzu, Domino, died in her arms on News Year’s Eve, 2006. She is survived by her cocker/corgy, Murphy, 19. Laurie was also an avid sports fan, especially the Colorado Avalanche Hockey Team, in particular, her favorite player, Joe Sakic. Laurie loved to travel. Some of her favorite memories included her cross-country trip with her Grandpap and Mom from Maryland to Utah; and her adventures in Cancun, San Francisco, Florida and cruising to the Bahamas. She was a dancer from the age of four through college. She loved to read, and was an avid Civil War buff. She loved Christmas and birthdays. She loved to play games with her grandmother who lovingly called her "Tuddlebum," and taking her grandpap, who she lovingly called "blue eyes" to dinner and movies. Laurie was a gift from God, and her smiling blue eyes, her beautiful smile, her lyrical laughter, her sweet spirit and loving ways, her hugs and kisses, and so much more will be missed by all who knew and loved her, especially Mom and Dad. Visitation will be on Thursday, December 20, 2007 from 2-4 and 6- 8pm with prayers at 7 pm at Raymond Funeral Chapel, La Plata, Md. Mass of Christian burial will beon Friday, December 21, 2007 at 11am at St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Catholic Church, Indian Head, Md. Fr. Thomas Gude will officiate.
