Larry "Buddy" Arthur Berry

Laurence “Buddy” Arthur Berry passed peacefully and surrounded by family on January 5, 2024. Larry was born June 20,1940, in Hughesville, MD to Lawrence A. Berry and Vera Mae “Hamilton” Long. Larry was a loving and devoted husband to Roxanne “Rocky” Eiko Berry for 28 years and “dad” to three (3) sons and “daddy” to two (2) girls. Except for the 21 years spent serving our country, Larry lived most of his life in Southern Maryland. He was extremely proud of his military career and a recipient of the Bronze Medal for service in Vietnam. Following his military career, he proceeded on to the world of real estate, with a second career as part of the LK Farrell team of realtors, managing an office in Camp Springs, MD, but loved training new realtors as well. Larry loved friends, family, fishing, crabs, oysters, beer and the outdoors (not necessarily in that order). He was a dedicated leader in the American Legion and was a past Post 293 and Charles County Commander and active with the VFW. He had a passion for serving his fellow veterans. He is survived by his sons, Laurence Berry, Jr (Jackie) of Ruckersville, VA; Brian Berry (Arlene) of Waynesboro, PA; and Craig Berry of Woodstock, GA and “babygirls”, Briana Yotko (Jason) of Mechanicsville, MD and Crystal Wingrove (Wayne) of Charlotte Hall, MD. He is also survived by three (3) grandchildren; Daniel, Isabel and Sebastion. In addition, he is survived by his half-brother Thomas Harold Jacobs (Danita) of New Bern, NC. Larry is preceded in death by both of his parents and his sister, Joyce Lucille Thompson. The family will receive friends for Larry’s Life Celebration on Wednesday, January 24, 2024. from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Raymond Funeral Services, La Plata, MD with an American Legion service at 6:30pm On Thursday, January 25, 2024, a service will be officiated by Pastor Chris Bryan at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD at 1:45pm In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hero Dogs.
