Joan Phyllis "Sissy" Lincoln

Joan Phyllis "Sissy" Lincoln, 74 of Waldorf, went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 16, 2017 at her home. Born May 24, 1942, in Leonardtown, she was the daughter of Joseph Roger Morgan, Sr. and Agnes Gwynette Morgan. She married the love of her life, Charles Ferdinand "Buck" Lincoln, Sr. on July 5, 1976. They raised his and her children in a loving and caring environment with God always first. He preceded her in death August 11, 2005. Mrs. Lincoln was baptized October 5, 1963 into the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. She was a faithful servant of her church and God. She was a homemaker, a loving and caring wife, and an extraordinary mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family was the center of her world. She loved to bake homemade bread, cookies or anything her family desired and they were always served with lots of love. She was a strong, family-oriented woman with a heart of gold. She helped many people along her earthly journey, no matter the cost. "Love thy neighbor" was God's word and her mission. She also had so much love for her dog, Duke Anthony, who faithfully remained at her side until their parting. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her stepdaughter, Mary Amelia Clements; her grandson, Jacob Patrick "Jacky" Lincoln; her brother, Joseph Roger "Sonny" Morgan, Jr.; and her sister, Glenda Ann Morgan. Mrs. Lincoln is survived by her loving children, Cynthia Louise "Cindy" Lincoln of Waldorf, Carol Lynn Ryce (Steven) of Newburg and Keith O'Bryan Lincoln of Waldorf; her stepchildren, Andrew Stephen Lincoln, Sr. (Beverly) of Accokeek and Charles Ferdinand Lincoln, Jr. of Accokeek; her siblings James R. Morgan (Clara) of Loveville, Peggy English of Oak Harbor, Washington, Jean Morgan of Buena Park, California, Sylvia Mullen (Dale) of Fox Lake, Wisconsin, Mary Lou Borge of Philadelphia, Wayne Morgan (Cindy) of Mechanicsville and Donnie Morgan (Annette) of Hollywood. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Visitation on Monday, April 24, 2017 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM with Reflections at 7PM at Raymond's Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, Maryland 20646. There will be an additional visitation on Tuesday, April 24, 2017 from 10:30AM until the Celebration of Life Service, officiated by Pastor Wilson Morales and Pastor Sedley Johnson, at 11:30AM at the Waldorf Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 11245 Berry Road, Waldorf, Maryland 20603. Interment to follow at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Cheltenham at 1:45PM. Pallbearers: Keith Lincoln, Dustin Lincoln, Fred Lincoln, O'Bryan Lincoln, Adam Lincoln, Patrick Langley and Dwight Byass. Honorary pallbearers: Jerrold Lincoln, Brian Ball, Andrew Lincoln, Jr., Sabrina Ryce, Kendal Cox, Dale Windsor, Travis Windsor and Kaelynn Lincoln. Memorial contributions in Joan’s name may be made to Hospice of Charles County, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Parkinson's research.
