Harry Franklin Gienger III

Harry Franklin Gienger (Frank) Frank Gienger of La Plata, Maryland, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center. Frank was born on Friday, September 6, 1946, in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, to loving parents, the late Myrtle and the late Franklin Gienger. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-four years, Kay Gienger, his daughter, Natalie Willis and her husband, Chris, his grandchildren, Luke and Makayla Willis, all of La Plata, his brother Chuck Gienger and wife, Jane, of Kailua Kona, Hawaii, his brother-in-law, who was like a son, Floyd Robinson of Easton, Maryland, another brother-in-law, Bob Robinson of Ellicott City, Maryland, a sister-in-law, Linda Robinson, also of Ellicott City, a niece, Tina Fox, a nephew, Billy Gienger, both of Kailua Kona, Hawaii, a nephew, Jacob Robinson, of Annapolis, Maryland, and great nephews as well as cousins and many wonderful friends. Frank followed his dad into retailing, after attending college and his military service. He managed several retail stores in the Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia area. Frank was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, having served as a medic in Vietnam. Along with being a proud veteran, he was very patriotic. He had a love of all types of music, but particularly band and classical music. While living in Roanoke, Virginia, he attended Cave Spring high school and he joined their marching band, playing the baritone. Their band was invited to tour Europe. He loved gardening, watching plants grow and watching nature. Frank was an avid reader his entire life and could always be found with a good book. He always attributed his love of reading to his mom! He was a serious history buff and he had a deep love of the circus. From his early childhood, his love and knowledge of the circus was learned from and passed down to him from both his father and his paternal grandfather. He was a member of several circus organizations including Circus Fans Association of America, Circus Model Builders, Circus Historical Society and others. For many, many years, Frank built miniature circuses. He considered himself very fortunate and blessed, to have made many wonderful friendships in the circus world! Frank's parents instilled a love of family in him and his brother, Chuck. Frank carries his love of his family with him. Condolences for the family may be left on the Raymond Funeral Home website.
