Dante Anthony Johnson

Dante Johnson, born October 20, 1982, in Washington, D.C., entered eternal rest with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 25, 2025, at the age of 42. He was the beloved son of Veronica Jones and Ricardo Hamrick, and was lovingly raised by his adoptive father, Andre Jones (“Pops”). A man of profound faith, Assistant Pastor Dante devoted his life to serving the Lord, faithfully fulfilling various roles at Miracle Temple P.H.C. all for the glory of God. His preaching brought powerful revelations of God’s word, and he was widely known for his inspiring teachings, uplifting music, and unwavering faith and devotion to God. Professionally, Dante served as the Executive Director of Security and Advocacy Director at FaVor 1 Enterprises, passionately advancing its mission, “Blending Marriages Together into One Entity.” Through this work, he helped ignite a movement centered around unity, love, and purpose one that FaVor 1 continues to carry forward in his honor. In addition, Dante served with distinction as a Public Safety Officer at the College of Southern Maryland, where he was recently honored as Officer of the Month for his outstanding contributions to campus safety and the well-being of the CSM community. His dedication, professionalism, and care for others left a lasting impression on students, faculty, and colleagues alike. In 2007, Dante met the love of his life, LaKisha. Their marriage was filled with love, laughter, and faith, and together they raised three beautiful children. He was a devoted husband and father, always present and engaged in their lives. Dante will be remembered for his infectious humor, lighthearted sarcasm, and generous heart. A natural source of joy, he lit up every room with his quick wit and playful spirit. Whether teasing loved ones, preparing a favorite meal, or engaging in spirited games, Dante brought warmth and laughter to every moment. At family gatherings, he was a standout and fiercely competitive in Taboo, Spades, BizWiz, Family Feud, and always turning friendly rivalry into lasting memories. He also enjoyed playing pool, bowling, and relaxing with his PlayStation 5. Generous to a fault, Dante gave of himself freely and wholeheartedly. His legacy of faith, love, and joy will continue to live on in all who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Leona Mae Jones, McKinley Jones, Pastor Albert Hamrick, Solomon David Johnson, and his godfather, Joseph Moore. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Lakisha Johnson; his children: Nevaeh, Kaiyah, and Ethan Johnson; his parents: Andre and Veronica Jones, and Ricardo Hamrick; siblings: Dion Johnson, Demico Jones (Olivia Jones), Tyler Jones, and Ricardo Hamrick, Jr.; grandparents: Pastor Edith Johnson (“G-ma”) and Mary Hamrick; in-laws: Charles and Brenda Jones; a brother-in-law; nieces and nephews; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and dear friends who were all touched by his life.
