Claro "Lito" Medrano Cruz

Claro "Lito" Medrano Cruz, 63 of Waldorf, Maryland, formerly of Northern Virginia and Washington, DC passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 20, 2026, at the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center in La Plata, Maryland. His loving partner of 32 years, Robert (Bob) Riccardo was by his side at the time of his passing. Born on August 13, 1962 in Pasaquina, El Salvador, Lito was the son of the late Marco Medrano and Catalina Cruz de Medrano. In addition to his partner, Lito leaves behind his 4 sisters, Rosa, Paz, Juana and Carmen, brother-in-law, Feliciano and several nieces and nephews, Yvette, Cathy, Edwin, Stephanie, Nereida, William, Beverly, Mila and Leo. He also leaves behind "sisters" Kimberly and Kristine, and "brother-in-law", Kevin, the family of his partner and a multitude of friends who dearly loved him and his smile. Lito started his life in Pasaquina, El Salvador but had been living in the US for more than half of his life. Most of his life was spent working in the restaurant industry and most recently at Mr. Henry's, in Washington,DC with his partner, Bob, where he rediscovered his love of working with people and building relationships with new friends. The relationship Lito had with the love of his life was unbreakable, and it was very rare to see Lito without Bob. He lived to make his partner in life happy and did it very well. Lito enjoyed visiting his home in El Salvador, spending time in Alexandria and the city, working in the garden, shopping, listening to music and dancing, and enjoying great food and wine. Wherever Lito went, people always loved spending time with him and making him smile and laugh. You didn't need to know him very long or very well to fall in love with him and his kind and generous manner. Once you met Lito, you never forgot him. His absence will leave a void for many more people than he would have ever imagined, but his memory will live on in our hearts forever. A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026 from 2pm to 4pm and from 6pm to 8pm at the Raymond Funeral Service, P.A.,5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, Maryland 20646. Celebrations of Lito's Life will be held at a later date.
