Carl Thomas Wilson

Carl T. Wilson of Waldorf passed away on August 31, 2023 at the age of 86 at Southern Maryland Hospital surrounded by family. Carl was born in Washington, DC. to Joseph and Jeannette Wilson. He was a kind, generous, hardworking man, a faithful husband and loving father. He was a credit to the human race and will be missed tremendously. He leaves a legacy of goodness, generosity, and faithfulness and a large extended family that adored him. Carl married the love of his life Linda Oliver in 1960. They were married for 62 years during which they raised five children together. Carl had an incredible love for Jesus Christ and made it his life’s calling to spread the gospel. He was a long-time member of New Life Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed bowling, playing golf, racquet ball, bocce ball and progressive Rummy. He was competitive and had a passion for sports. He had a mechanical mind and could fix anything that needed it. Carl graduated from Milton Hershey High School in 1955. After high school he enrolled in the apprenticeship program for Steamfitters Local 602 where even after he retired in 1984, he remained a member for 67 years. After retiring from Local 602, he became a member of the Operating Engineers Local 99 for 20 years. Carl is survived by five children, Thomas Wilson, Brian Wilson (Cathy), Jeannette Hardt (Jack), Fred Wilson (Stacey), Colleen Morrill (Terry), grandchildren, Jessica Haghverdi (Teddy), Dale Linassi (Danielle), Gabrielle Harne (Derek), Ian Hardt, Drew Wilson (Deanna), Lindsey Sapp (Andy), Derek and Grace Morrill, great grandchildren, Hailey Haghverdi, Nathan Zimmerman, Makayla and Dylan Linassi, Carter and Gabby Cavegn, Andrew, Avery and Levi Sapp, Everett Harne and Finnegan Wilson. He is predeceased by his wife Linda Wilson, and grandsons Joel Wilson and Landon Morrill. His funeral will be held on September 13, at The Dome on the New Life Church campus, 9690 Shepherds Creek, La Plata, MD. Viewing and visitation with family begins at 10:00 am, with the Life Celebration Service starting at 11 am. Burial to follow at Washington National Cemetery in Suitland, MD.
