Barbara Wood

Barbara Ann Wood of Lexington Park, Maryland, died on Thursday, November 3, 2011 in Bel Alton, MD. She was 52 years old. Barbara Ann was a mother and a homemaker. In addition to taking care of her own children, she was a caregiver to her grandchildren as well. She was raised in Bel Alton, MD and attended Bel Alton School. She enjoyed listening to music and being with her family. Barbara Ann always greeted you with a smile. She was loving and compassionate to others. She never complained about life and its worries. When asked how she was doing she always said she was doing good. She enjoyed the little things in life that we sometimes overlook. She spent her final days at her childhood home with her family. Her bodily life came to rest on Thursday, November 3, 2011. She is now in God’s grace and with her beloved sister Yvonne and brother James Jr. She is loved and will be missed. Daughter of the living Mary Louise Wills and the living James Lindberg Smallwood of Bel Alton, MD Predeceased by one late sister, Yvonne Smallwood; one late brother, James Smallwood, Jr.; and one late grandmother, Mary Etta Wills. Survived by her parents; one daughter, Sharon Monique Wood Richardson of Lexington Park, MD; two sons, Eric Devon Wood and his wife Chris of Lexington Park, MD and Keith Wood of Bryans Road, MD; husband Lewis Wood of Bryans Road, MD; companion Dan Harpor of Lexington Park, MD; three sisters, Patsy Ann Boyden and her husband Mark of La Plata, MD, Polly Jean Smallwood of Indian Head, MD, and Betty Jean Smallwood of Bel Alton, MD; five brothers, John Lewis Smallwood of Bel Alton, MD, Thomas Smallwood and his wife Brenda of Pomfret, MD, James Richard Smallwood of Lexington Park, MD, Roger Lee Smallwood and his wife Fontella of Waldorf, MD, and Michael Andrew Smallwood of Bel Alton, MD; and 13 grandchildren: Marcus Richardson, Trey Richardson, Tierra Richardson, Ra’Shawn Sewell-Wood, Justus Sewell Wood, Eric Wood, Jr., Aliecea Wood, Chase Wood, Marquez Wood, Jameze Wood, Kameran Wood, Layla Wood, and Jaydon Wood. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends who love her.
