Arleen “Kissie” May Bowie age 65, of Nanjemoy Maryland went home to glory Surrounded by her loving family on November 19, 2025 in Washington DC after a dedicated battle to cancer. Born April 16,1960 in Maryland. She was the daughter to Joan and Ray Rudolph. Kissie lived her entire life for her family. She was a devoted wife to her husband, George Curtis Bowie II. Together they created a life full of love, laughter and memories. She was a wonderful mom to her daughters Joann Bowie, Jennifer Bowie, Denise Jenkins, Kathleen Bowie, Jaqueline Bowie & Her son Curtis Bowie III, as well as many more she treated as her own such as Ann Willett, Kelly and Michael Poland and so many more who created a safe place for. Finally, after her sons passing she took in and became a mother to her son’s children Ashlee, Jamie, and Melissa Bowie whom she made a loving, safe home for. She now rejoins in heaven her daughter Jacquline Bowie, and son George Curtis "Bad Bad" Bowie III, who’ve passed before her. Memaw to; Ashlee, Jamie, Melissa, Georgie, Victoria, Christopher jr., Starlee, Leah, Lexi, Nick, Karlie, William, Emma, Jaelyn, Michael, Ryan, Gabbie and Wes Jr. Great grandma to Aubrey, Ashlie, Peyton, Carter, Benelli, Emersyn, Delaney, Wrynlee, Hazel, Lil Danny, Brayson aka “Tigger”, Anna, and soon to enter the world baby cobb. She lived for every moment with every child. Kissie was not just the foundation of her family; she built that foundation with her own hands for generations. To know her was to know loyalty, strength, compassion, dedication and love. She was the glue that held generations together. She also had huge faith and community with Nanjemoy churches where she attended regularly and made friendships she cherished. The legacy she leaves behind is powerful and everlasting. It is a legacy of love that protected her family. Sacrifice that shaped her children and grandchildren. strength that will carry her name forward for generations. Her story, her lessons, and her love will continue to guide every person she touched. Though the world feels heavier without her, heaven is brighter because she is reunited with her children, wrapped in peace, watching over the family she built, protected, and carried with every beat of her heart. May her beautiful soul rest in eternal love, and may her family continue to feel her presence in every memory, every story, and every moment of strength that comes from her. Visitations will be held at Maryland Point Baptist Church from 9am Until the time of service at 11am. Burial will follow in Christ church Durham Parish cemetery, where she is laid to rest, next to her beloved son.
