Anthony "Fuzzy" Joseph Tononi

Anthony Joseph Tononi, affectionately known as "Fuzzy" to his close family and friends, and by some as Tony, lived a life defined by love, laughter, hard work, and unwavering devotion to his family. Born on October 7, 1963, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, to Victor Tononi and Gertrude Tononi, Anthony passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 10, 2026, leaving behind a legacy that will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Anthony dedicated his life to his family and to a career he was incredibly proud of. In his early years, he was a proud member of Sheet Metal Workers Local 100, where he completed copper roofing with detailed Cornish work projects throughout Washington, D.C. and the Wolf Trap in VA. He always enjoyed driving through the city with his family, proudly pointing out the copper roofs he had worked on and sharing stories about the craftsmanship behind each project and it had landed him on the cover of the Sheetmetal Workers Journal as well as a Lifesize display at local100 headquarters. As his career evolved, Anthony became a Certified HVAC Test and Balancing Technician/Engineer, a profession he dedicated nearly forty years to. His knowledge, precision, and unmatched work ethic earned the respect of everyone who had the privilege of working alongside him. Later in life, he transitioned it into a business with family included, where he continued doing what he loved until his passing. No matter where he worked, Anthony believed in doing every job the right way and was always willing to share his knowledge with others. While Anthony was incredibly proud of his career, nothing meant more to him than his family and he had a big one. He shared a beautiful life with his beloved wife, Shawn Renaé Jones, building a home filled with unconditional love, laughter, and memories that will be cherished forever. He was a devoted husband, a proud father, a loving grandfather and great-grandfather, and the kind of man who would do absolutely anything for the people he loved. Anthony had a heart as big as his smile and a personality that could light up any room. He was known for his kindness, his quick wit, and his unforgettable sense of humor. He loved harmless pranks and playful teasing, creating stories that his family still laughs about today. Whether convincing Ricky or Little Michael to hold a wire just long enough to surprise them with a harmless spark or simply making everyone around him smile, Anthony had a remarkable gift for bringing joy to others. Anyone who knew Anthony also knew there wasn't much he couldn't fix. Family and friends often turned to him whenever something broke because they knew he would figure it out. He never hesitated to lend a helping hand, expecting nothing in return except the opportunity to help someone he cared about. Anthony was an incredibly talented drummer and loved getting together with friends to play music for many years. Although those gatherings became less frequent over time, his drum set remained a treasured reminder of a passion that brought him so much joy. Away from work, Anthony loved camping, boating, fishing, swimming, four-wheeling, dirt biking, and pulling the kids on tubes across the water. Whether spending weekends outdoors or simply enjoying time with those he loved, those adventures became some of his family's most treasured memories. Proud of his Italian and Hungarian heritage, Anthony would often jokingly refer to himself as a "hungry Italian," bringing laughter to everyone around him. Whether gathered around a campfire, enjoying a family meal, or simply spending time with those he loved most, he found happiness in life's simple moments. Above all else, Anthony was a family man. His greatest accomplishment wasn't measured by his career, but by the love he gave so freely to his family, the example he set, and the countless lives he touched through his kindness, generosity, and unwavering support. Anthony was preceded in eternal life by his parents, Victor Tononi and Gertrude Tononi; his brothers, Victor Tononi, Richard Zagrodnichek, Leonard "Benny" Zagrodnichek, and Michael Zagrodnichek; his father-in-law, Danny Clark Jones; his beloved great-grandchild, Jupiter Burch; his nephew, Travis Roland Kelam, his great-nephews, Michael Ream and Tyler Blake; along with other cherished family members who welcomed him into eternal peace. Anthony is survived by his loving wife, Shawn Renaé Jones; his children, Richard "Ricky" Zagrodnichek (Bethany Gibson), Tiffany Tononi (Michael Burch), Victoria "Tori" Tononi,(Curtis McFadden) and Tonaé Tononi; his grandchildren, Damion Burch (Cheyanne "Chey" Cote-Burch), Emmaleigh Zagrodnichek, Elizabeth "Gus" Zagrodnichek, and Dannika Burch; and his great-grandchildren, Phoenix Anthony Burch and, last but certainly not least, his newborn great-granddaughter, Daniela Shawn-Marie Burch. He is also survived by his brothers, James Zagrodnichek and John Zagrodnichek; his sisters, Diane Wyatt and Pam Bandy; his mother-in-law, Nancy Alice Robins Jones; his sister-in-law, Shayé Rayná Jones; and his beloved nieces and nephews: Paul Tononi, Lisa Tononi, Michelle Tononi, Johnny Ream (Connie), Milissa Zagrodnichek (Eric), Ruben "Bink" Blake (Penny), Angela Zagrodnichek (Richard), Jonnie Zagrodnichek, Matthew Zagrodnichek (Megan), Michael Zagrodnichek (Amy), Priscilla Zagrodnichek, Thomas Kelam (Jessica), Tyler Kelam (Salena), and Talie Bagley. He is also lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews of the next generation: Andrew Embrey, Destiny Zagrodnichek, Trysta Thomas, Brandon Ream, Bethany Ream, Gracie Zagrodnichek, Bryce Kelam, Gryphon Kelam, Tripp Kelam, Kai Kelam, Nova Rae Kelam, Leo Daniel Sheffler, and Andi Gilliam, along with countless other nieces and nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who were blessed to know and love him, and who will forever cherish his memory. Anthony's Catholic faith remained a quiet but meaningful part of his life. He found comfort in his belief in God and lived with a heart rooted in love, kindness, compassion, and forgiveness. He is now reunited with those who have gone before him, and his love and memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those he cherished. Anthony's greatest legacy is not only found in the work of his hands, but in the love he poured into his family, the laughter he shared, the lessons he taught, and the memories he created. His family will forever remember the sound of his laughter, the beat of his drums, the adventures shared while camping, boating, fishing, four-wheeling, dirt biking, swimming, and spending days on the water, and the unconditional love he gave so freely. Though their hearts are broken by his passing, they find comfort knowing his love will remain with them always.
