Albert Boelke, Jr.

Bert was a Sales Manager for 40 plus years with Sears. He was a founding member, music minister, lector and Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Waldorf, MD. He was currently a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fredericksburg, VA. A life member of the Knights of Columbus, having served with Dr. Griffith Council as Past Grand Knight, State Warden, State Cantor and District Deputy. He was currently with Battlefield Council in Fredericksburg, VA. He was also a member of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, having served as Faithful Navigator. He was a Board Member of the Homeless Shelter in Waldorf and a member of Alhambra. He enjoyed family gatherings, taking cruises, and being with his various groups that he belonged to. He was son of the late Albert B. Boelke Sr. and the late Florentine Virginia Nibbe Boelke. He was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his wife Bonnie McDonald Boelke; three sons Russell A. (Marylou) Boelke of Florida, Gerald M. (Anne-Marie) Boelke of Waldorf, MD and Raymond L. (Ann) Boelke of Mechanicsville, MD; four daughters Leslie A. Boelke of Minnesota, Audrey F. Sigmon of Charlotte Hall, MD, Janean M. (Michael) Giles of Pasadena, MD and Mary Grace (Christopher) Lawrence of Clements, MD; two brothers Robert Boelke of IL and Arthur of NC; two sisters Karen Oswald of IN and Marsha Harris of MA; also survived by 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. A Visitation will take place on Sunday, October 26, 2008 from 2-4 & 6-8PM with Wake Service and K of C Service at 7:30PM at the Raymond Funeral Chapel La Plata, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, October 27, 2008 at 10:30AM at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church 9151 Ely’s Ford Road Fredericksburg, VA 22407 with additional viewing at church from 10AM to 10:30AM. Clergy will be Father Michael Taylor and Father John Kovelesky. Pallbearers will be Ernest Sigmon, Benjamin Lawrence, Adam and Michael Giles, Christopher Lawrence and Jim Logan. Honorary Pallbearer will include the Knights of Columbus Honor Guard. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in Helen, MD.
