Rita Beverly Hogge

Rita Beverly Hogge of King George, VA (formerly of La Plata, MD) died on Friday, May 6, 2022 at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, VA. She was 81 years old. Rita retired from the Charles County Board of Education in 2002 after 29 years of service. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, and spending time with her friends, family, grandbabies and great grandbabies. Born in La Plata, MD, Rita is the daughter of the late Herbert Frederick Hintze and the late Pearl Elizabeth (Simms) Hintze. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, David L. Hogge Sr., sister Mildred (Sissy) Shockey, and brothers Arthur Hintze, Russell Hintze, and Harold Hintze. Rita is survived by her three children David L. Hogge and his wife Karen (Ager) Hogge of Colonial Beach, VA, Beverly (Hogge) Langley and her husband James (J.C.) Langley of King George, VA, and Brenda (Hogge) Buckler and her beau Wayne Hancock of La Plata, MD. She is also survived by her two sisters Christine (Teenie) Burch, and Shirley Bailey, her nine grandchildren and nineteen (soon to be twenty-three) great grandchildren and her beloved pets Wrigley and Sabriel who she enjoyed spending time with. Friends will be received on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM with Prayers at 7PM at Raymond Funeral Service Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646. Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at 10AM at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Waldorf, MD. Interment in the church cemetery.
