October 1, 1963 - February 20, 2021
Our beloved Dorris Ng, 57, of Waldorf, MD, passed away suddenly on February 20th, 2021. She was born in Taiping, Malaysia. She spent most of her childhood, teen and young adult life in Taiping and her adult life in the town of Ipoh, Malaysia. There she met her husband Liew and started her family. On December 1st, 2008, she emigrated to the United States with her husband, Liew, and sons, Matthew and Eugene. They lived in Plymouth, a suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Her adventures in Minnesota were brief and when the extreme cold became unbearable, they decided to move south to Waldorf, Maryland. Dorris pursued an incredibly successful marketing career with Regency Furniture in Waldorf. She was loved by colleagues and co-workers and had indicated that she would retire from there. Dorris was a beautiful, kind, soft spoken and a gentle soul. She was a mother, a wife, a sister, a niece, an aunt and a friend. Her sudden departure at such a young age left us in shock and our hearts broken. We will miss her jokes, opinions, karaoke sessions, parties and field trips with her. Dorris is survived by her husband, Liew; eldest son, Matthew (Belle); youngest son, Eugene; stepson, Kevin; mother-in-law, Choy Yoke; brothers, Man Lok and Man Keong (Keng Keng); sisters, Alice (Michael), Mary (Peter), Lydia and Angie (Desmond); brothers-in-law, Kok Yuen (Jenny), Kok Leong; sister-in-law, Lai Pheng (Alex); nephews, Thomas (Fennie), Jeffrey (Janielle), Marcus, Jon, Wai Mun, Wai Keong and Lekovic; nieces, Xie Min (Max), Victoria; grand-nephews, Eugene and Jayson; and grand-nieces, Felicia and Syanne. A private Visitation and Funeral Service will take place at Raymond Funeral Chapel. Interment will be private. As you are aware, Dorris was an integral part of the Regency Family and a loving part of Regency Furniture’s charitable activities. Dorris, selflessly devoted her time to various charitable causes, including The Children’s Cancer Foundation, Inc (CCF). We fondly remember Dorris’s participation in our many golf tournaments and family picnics. Dorris would be the first one to arrive and last to leave, while always maintaining her welcoming smile we all know and love. Thank you so much and you will always be remembered for your kindness. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Dorris may be made to The Children’s Cancer Foundation, Inc at the following link (https://childrenscancerfoundation.org/donate/) or by mail at 5570 Sterrett Place, Suite 204, Columbia, Maryland 21044.
