Mary Lucille Hill, 91, of LaPlata Maryland passed away January 11, 2022 in Southport, NC. She was born March 22, 1930 in Bryantown, Maryland. She was the daughter of the late Louis Cargill and Margaret Lucus. She was a waitress most of her life at LaPlata Diner, Earls Truck Stop, Hughesville Café and Old Country Buffet. After she retired, she loved going fishing, doing puzzles and having cookouts/crab feasts with friends and family. She will be greatly missed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Francis Cargill, George Cargill and Louis Cargill. Also preceded in death by her sisters Anna Long, Helen Alvey, and Martha Alvey. Also, her first husband George Kenneth Bowie, daughter Hilda Marie Bowie, granddaughter Karen Wills and great-grandchildren Terrance Ford and Jaleana Shaffier. She is survived by her brother Joseph Cargill, husband Thomas Franklin Hill Sr., children Mary Louise Bowie, Catherine Elizabeth Lancaster and her fiancé Bob Waddell, and son Thomas Henry Hill and his wife Sylvia Hill. Grandchildren, Jennifer, CJ, Christina, Justin, Robby, Jason, Tiffany and Tammy. Plus 16 great-grandchildren and countless nieces and nephews. Lucille’s funeral will be held at Raymond Funeral Home in LaPlata, Maryland on January 24, 2022. Visitation will be from 10am to 12pm, with the service starting at 12pm. Burial following at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Waldorf, Maryland. Pallbearers will be Thomas H. Hill, Bob Waddell, Michael Shaffier, CJ Lancaster, Jason Jones, and Catherine Lancaster.
