Mary Middleton Cafeo

Mary Middleton Cafeo, 82, of Atlanta, GA formerly of Alexandria, VA passed away on Friday, April 15, 2021 in Atlanta GA. Mary, affectionately known as Pat or Patsy was born on May 16, 1939 in La Plata, MD to the late Margaret Eva (Hanson) and Henry D. Middleton, Jr. Pat worked as a secretary for the Department of Defense. She was a member of the Night Blooming Garden Club in Alexandria, VA. She enjoyed reading, going to the movies, going out to lunch, going on trips, gardening, and visiting gardens and historic homes. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Basil Louis Cafeo, daughter, Linda Cafeo Majka, and brother, Donnie Middleton. She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Cafeo Kopf and her husband Randy Kopf, daughter, Jan Cafeo Hayden and her husband Robert Hayden, son in-law, Theo Majka, two grandchildren Liz Hayden and Ben Hayden, and siblings: Peggy Jameson, Henry Middleton, Gabriel Middleton, Helen Shotwell, Paul Middleton, Mac Middleton, Theresa Barnett, Dorothy Reppel, Valarie Bremer, Wayne Middleton, Elaine Adams, and Greg Middleton. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 from 4:00-6:00pm at Raymond Funeral Service, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at 10am at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 3320 St. Peter’s Drive, Waldorf, MD 20601. Interment will follow in the church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the National Park Foundation at www.nationalparks.org or World Wildlife Fund at www.worldwildlife.org in her name.
