Linda Carole Svane

Linda Carole (Rutherford) Svane, 78, of Waldorf, Maryland, peacefully passed on December 5, 2021, at Georgetown University Hospital, Washington, DC. Linda was born on September 25, 1943, to the late Clarence “Larry” Rutherford and Mary Caroline (Higgs) Cole. Linda, a Washington, DC native, retired after 33 years as a healthcare provider. She worked as an LPN/RN at several different area hospitals during her career and was Head Charge Nurse at Southern Maryland Hospital. Linda is survived by her devoted husband Hans of 38 years, adoring daughters Carole (Scott) and Dawn, proud son Mario Jr., 8 precious grandchildren Trea (Alissa), Natalie, Scott (Elsbeth), Amanda, Gabrielle, Matthew, Daniel, Caroline, and 4 cherished great-grandchildren Zane, Scarlett, Kensley and Winter. Special cousins J. Wayne Higgs and Sharon (Crider) Duggan and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Sunday, December 12, 2021 from 1:00 PM until time of Memorial Service at 4:00 PM at Raymond Funeral Service, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, Maryland 20646. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 13, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 13715 Notre Dame Place, Bryantown, Maryland 20617. Interment will be private. Luncheon reception immediately following Memorial Mass – D.C. Ramblers Clubhouse, 16763 Prince Frederick Road, Hughesville, Maryland 20637. In lieu of flowers, donations in Linda’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105-9959.
