Kenneth Lewallen, 64, of Hughesville, MD died on August 31, 2021 at home surrounded by his family. Kenneth was born on October 7, 1956 in Kingston, TN, to the late Clara Jean (Sweeney) and Ulyss William Lewallen. Kenneth proudly served in The United States Army from 1976-1995. After retiring from the Army, he continued his career in the United States Government, until retiring again in January of 2021. While in the Army he met his bride-to-be, Sieglinde. The two married in 1978, and traveled to many places including; Italy, Germany, and Portugal, to name a few, while he worked and served in the Army. He liked to read and collect the books until his family pushed him to start reading eBooks on the Kindle. He was very independent, and wanted to do things his way, and by himself. He was a quick-witted jokester who had sayings like “we should’ve skipped the kids and gone straight to grandkids,” to show his love for his granddaughter, and “Army Training,” when talking with his coworkers. He was a nice, calm man who will be missed by everyone who knew him. In addition to his parents his is preceded in death by his sister, Lena “Tootsie” Lewallen. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sieglinde (Rohde) Lewallen, son, Marco Lewallen and his wife Esther Egbe Lewallen, granddaughter and love of his life, Jyden Ogburn, brothers; Silas Lewallen, Enis Lewallen and his wife Bernice, and Nicholas Lewallen, sisters; Vinzetta Lewallen, Jeanetta Lewallen, Gladys Lewis and her husband Larry, and Emma Lewallen, sister in-laws; Renate Rohde and Elvira Fink Weber, and an extended family who will all miss him. A Military burial will take place at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.
