John Will Frazier November 5, 1932-May 13, 2022 John Will Frazier left this world on Friday May 13, 2022, from natural causes surrounded by his loving family. John taught family and friends about a strong work ethic and smart money management. He could fix just about anything and, if not, knew who to contact to get the job done. John loved to fish and garden, and he loved the Washington Nationals. Above all else, John loved his family. John was born on November 5, 1932 at home in Griffinsburg, Virginia. He graduated from Culpeper High School. John was drafted and entered the Army May 12, 1953, where he was a sharpshooter and was in charge of ordinance at Aberdeen Proving Grounds. From there he went to Fort Hood, Texas where he spent 19 months in the 100th tank battalion. In 1959 John started working at Sears, Roebuck & Co. as a service technician repairing televisions and radios. Eventually he was promoted to assistant manager of product services for the Washington/Baltimore area and retired from Sears in 1993. Retired life enabled John to help tote and carry the grandchildren to their numerous events and to dedicate many hours to the upkeep of Bethany Christian Church’s grounds and building. On August 4, 1957, he married Mary Ann Shipler. They were married for 64 years and raised four children: John, Dana, and Scott Frazier, and Debra Overby. They also have eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. John is preceded in death by his parents, Carroll and Laura Frazier, and his siblings, James and Carroll Henry “CH” Frazier, and Mary Caroon. There will be a viewing on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 from 6-8 p.m. at Raymond Funeral Home, 5635 Washington Ave, La Plata MD 20646. On Thursday, May 26, 2022, there will be a short visitation at 10 a.m. at Bethany Christian Church, 7128 Allentown Road, Fort Washington, MD 20744, followed by a memorial service at 11. After the service, there will be a repast in the church Fellowship Hall. Burial will be at Maryland Veterans Cemetery at Cheltenham on Wednesday June 8, 2022 at 10:30am. If you wish, in lieu of flowers, you may make donations to a charity of your choice in John’s name.
