George Oliver Gray Sr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

George Oliver Gray, Sr., 95, of Marbury, Maryland, passed away unexpectedly on August 4, 2022, at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center, surrounded by his loving family. Oliver was born on September 19, 1926 to James R. Gray, Sr. and MaryBelle Gray, the second oldest of eleven children. He is now reunited with his parents, siblings—James, Faye, Mary V., Paul, Harryette, Kathryn Ann, Samuel, and his children Darrick and Wanda. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Elizabeth Ellen Gray, his children—Oliver Jr., Tara, Schirra Sr. (Dorothy), and Aimee (Jimmy); six grandchildren (George III (Bridget), Anjela, Schirra Jr. (Amy), Miki (Joe), Robert, and Justin; ten great-grandchildren (Hunter, Tyler, Jordan, Noah, Hannah, Mason, Makayla, Isabella, Tehya, and River); siblings—Sylvia, Herbert, and Sharon; and a host of other loving family members. Oliver's family wishes to express their appreciation to Dr. Sunil Nachanai and Kelli Goldsborough for their care and medical ministry to Oliver. The family will welcome loved ones at St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Church (30 Mattingly Ave., Indian Head, MD) on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 from 9:30AM until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM. A private interment will held at a later date at the St. Charles Glymont Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Oliver’s name to the American Heart Association.
