David Henry Maines

David Henry Maines, 82 of Nanjemoy, Maryland died on January 29, 2022 in Blairsville, Georgia. Dave was born on June 18,1939 in Oxon Hill, Maryland to the late Merle and Mary Maines. David spent his life working as a master craftsman and stone mason. He was a volunteer fireman as well. A loving father and friend, he enjoyed activities such as hunting, fishing, and riding his four-wheeler with, his dog the on back. He enjoyed life, with a laugh like Fred Flintstone. The eldest of 11 siblings, he leaves behind many. David was survived by his brothers, Robert and Joesph N. Maines, and sisters Judith Maines Voorhies, Clara Cylinda Meinhardt, and Mary Faye Maines Mehlfelt. Dave also leaves behind his sons Roy D. and David A. Maines; daughters Lisa M. Midgett, and Robin Hall; and step-sons Mark and Mathew Buitron. David had six grandchildren, Kimberly M. Maines, Shannon M. Sandberg, David Andrew Maines, Valerie Marie Maines, Courtney Elaine Chase, George Brian Miller, and Katie Hall. He also leaves behind 10 great grandkids. Dave leaves a legacy of strength and love. For those who knew him well, he will be missed greatly. A Visitation will be held in the Raymond Funeral Chapel on February 5, 2022 from 10:00am until 11:30am. Graveside service and interment will be at Durham Church Cemetery, 8685 Ironsides Road, Ironsides, Maryland, 20662 at 12:30pm.
