Ashley Leighann Hood Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Ashley Leighann Hood, 30, passed away suddenly on July 19, 2022 at home. Our family is devastated and shocked by this loss. Ashley was born on July 30, 1991 in La Plata, Maryland to Keith and Teresa Hood. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her son Mason Alexander Podorski; sisters, Tiffany Hood and Christine Hood; her significant other, Tommy Podorski; and many other loving relatives and friends. Ashley was a graduate of Westlake High School and worked for Dick's Air Conditioning & Heating. She was looking forward to being a mother to Mason. She was a loving daughter, sister, granddaughter, cousin, momma to Martini and devoted aunt. Ashley was a light to any room she walked into. Her soul was deep and her heart was of pure gold. Born and raised in Southern Maryland, she spent her entire life appreciating all it had to offer. She often enjoyed swimming, camping and spending time outdoors. Music, laughter and good food were always paramount to Ashley's surroundings. Living out loud and being a free spirit that made friends wherever she went, is part of who Ashley was. She loved eating crabs with her mom and watching scary movies with her dad. She played an active role in helping to raise her two nieces from birth and they held a very special place in her heart. Her lifelong dream came true when she met her soulmate Tommy Podorski and became mommy to Mason Alexander. Although their time was cut short, it was the greatest joy of her life. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 29, 2022 from 2:00pm until time of Funeral Service at 4:00pm at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, Maryland 20646. Interment will be private.
