Sharon Leta Glisson

SHARON L. GLISSON (Age 84) Passed away on October 9, 2023. Beloved daughter of the late Walter Forest and Hazel Frances Gatchell. She was born in Bar Harbor, ME on April 26, 1939. She lived in Cape Cod, MA as a small child, and later, as a young girl moved to Washington, DC where, as a young teenager, she met Thomas Glisson, The Love of Her Life at the National Arena Roller Rink, Washington DC where they went on to spend many dates. During 1958, they were married and resided in Washington, DC where they had three children. Eventually they moved the family to Southern Maryland where they settled in as residents in the Ripley/La Plata Community. Her family was her world. She was always happiest when her family gathered together for holiday dinners. Art became her favorite hobby. She loved to sketch and dabbled in painting and watercolors. She sketched pictures of her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren along with many subjects that she found interesting. She loved tending to her flowers and vacationing at the beach. Prior to retiring she worked in Washington, DC for Kalivretenos Brothers Produce, and also volunteered by serving on the Family Council at Genesis, La Plata. Once retired, she made many friends during her involvement in activities at the Clark Senior Center. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved grandson Derrek Ehrenreich. She is survived by her husband, the love of her life, Thomas Glisson “Blue Eyes”; Children, Tammy (Kurt) Ehrenreich, Terry (David) Martin, Erik Glisson, Grand Children, Dawn (Corey) Taylor. Sandy Smith (Robert Goff), Jeremy (Melissa) Smith, Jessica Dade, Branden Ehrenreich. Great Grand Children, Kayla Harris, Troy Burke, Kaiden McKeoun, Kendal Smith, Lee Dade, Tawny Dade, half-brother Walter “Bobby” (Patricia) Barney of Cape Cod, MA Visitation: Will be held October 18, 2023, from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at Raymond Funeral Service In LaPlata, MD Mass & Burial: Will take place at 11:00 am on October 19, 2023 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Pomfret, MD Memorial Contributions may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association of the Southern Maryland Area
