Sarah Ann Dixon

Sarah Ann (Reinhardt) Dixon, 90, of Waldorf, MD, died on March 2, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Sarah was born on April 1, 1932 in Washington, DC to Frances Sapronia (Tayman) and James Leroy Reinhardt. Sarah married the love of her life, Ralph A. Dixon on May 13, 1950 in a double wedding ceremony with her twin sister, Rose M. (Reinhardt) and her husband to be Delbert R. Oldland at St. Peters Catholic Church in Washington, DC. She was a devout Catholic and a long time parishioner at Our Lady Help of Christians in Waldorf, MD, where she often volunteered and led Bible Study. Sarah enjoyed cooking, scrapbooking, crafting, and tea parties. She loved animals, and always had a family pet. Her greatest love was her family, she enjoyed every minute she was able to spend with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending time with her cherished friends. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Ralph; son, Ralph A. Dixon, Jr.; son in-law, Bob Grossman; grandsons; James Francis Dixon, Jr., James Edward Dixon, Ernest Sigmon, III, and Noah Dixon; great-great-granddaughter, Evelyn Dixon; twin sister, Rose M. Oldland and her husband Delbert; and brother, James L. Reinhardt, Jr. and his wife Arnette. She is survived by children; James Dixon (Pam), Steven Dixon (Cindy), Michael Dixon (Mary Ellen), Rose Ann Grossman, Michelle Rhoderick (Joseph), Nancy Bodnar (Nick), Mary Sigmon (Ernest), and Sally Mercer (Kevin); daughter in-law, Lana Jill Dixon; 47 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters in-law; Butch and Diane Dixon, Doris and Russel Dickerson, and Helen Chenault; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. Friends will be received on Monday, March 13, 2023 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Raymond Funeral Service, 5635 Washington Ave, La Plata, MD 20646 where a Catholic Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 PM. Additional Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 from 11:00 AM until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM at Our Lady Help of Christians, 100 Village Street, Waldorf, MD 20602. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton, MD.
