Sandra Elaine Williams-Summers

Sandra Elaine (Dawson) Williams-Summers, transitioned peacefully on Thursday, November 4th, 2021. Sandra, "Fern" as she was affectionately known by her family, was born in La Grange, North Carolina on April 27, 1940, to the late Horace and Helen (Smith) Dawson. Sandra was a graduate of Spingarn High School, Washington D.C., where she was consistently voted best dressed by faculty and staff, and married her high school sweetheart Raymond Carl Williams Jr., whom she was married to for 19 years. Sandra was also a part of the Washington D.C. socialite club "Les Demoiselles", of which she was a very proud member. Sandra enjoyed a successful career in Real Estate/Property Management for notable companies such as Fort Lincoln Realty, Dreyfuss Brothers Management, Borger Management, and Zalco Realty, before retiring as a Certified Property Manager(CPM) for Housing Opportunities Commission Montgomery County (HOCMC). Sandra loved cooking. Her exceptional cooking abilities were enjoyed and celebrated by all that knew her. Especially during the holiday season, Sandra enjoyed cooking meals for her family and friends, which included lots of laughter and Pokeno games. Sandra enjoyed poetry, listening to audiobooks, reading, watching HGTV, and decorating. In addition, she loved traveling, Christmas' in Florida and was an avid gamer. Sandra loved her iPhone and scored highly in games such as; Candy Crush and Word Brain. She also had a great passion for dogs, Cashmere will miss her and Cuzz will be happy to see her. Sandra had a love for all music. As a child, she studied ballet and beamed with pride over her many accomplishments as a ballerina such as her solo recital at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. Sandra was the eldest of four children. She was proceeded in death by her daughter, Torii Williams, two brothers; Rafiq (Darryl) Bilal, Mervin Dawson. Sandra is survived by her loving husband David P. Summers, daughters; Carla, Sandra, Tracey, and Dionne, sister; Kathi Fentress and her husband Vernon, sisters-in-law; Valerie Brisco (Samuel) and Pamela McKay (Rex), grandchildren; Thomas, Helena, Cameron, Triston, Torii, Charvez, Sandra, and Sierra, great-grandchildren; Brooklyn, Thomas Jr., Briyan, Gabrielle, Naomi, Athena, Alexander, Aniyah, Alessa, Arya, Damien, nephews; Jeremy Fentress (Kathi), Mohammed Soriano Bilal (Rafiq), nieces; Aziza Toussaint and Falilah Bilal (Rafiq),and Sabrena Hairston (Valerie), cousins; Dr. Judy Sundayo and Resheata Springs, and a host of other friends and relatives. Sandra was recently proceeded in death by her best friend of 60+ years, Lillian "Lil" Frazier, of whom she was godmother to her daughters Lisa Frazier and Lenora Rood. Sandra met the love of her life David Summers, 36 years ago and they recently celebrated their 20thwedding anniversary. A private memorial service will be held for family at Raymond Funeral Chapel at a later date.
