Mary Alice Tucker

Mary Alice Tucker, 78, of Faulkner, Maryland, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at her home surrounded by loving family. She was born on June 26, 1946 in Baltimore, Maryland. She was the daughter of the late Roy Edwin Baker and Goldie Mae Baker (McDonald). Mary retired from Wal-Mart after 20 years as an Overnight Stocker. Before moving to Charles County, she worked for Anne Arundel County Public Schools in the cafeteria. In addition, Mary spent many hours in the tobacco fields with her husband and family until the tobacco buy-out in the early 2000’s. Mary was a woman of faith and attended church regularly. She loved her Anchor Baptist Church family and participated in many activities and ministries with them. Mary was very close to her siblings and enjoyed traveling with them to craft fairs, holiday events and the family’s long-time tradition of going to Disney World together. Mary enjoyed hosting holidays on the family farm, with her most favorite event being her Fall Festival complete with a haunted barn, spooky trail, pumpkins, bonfire and a hayride. In the Summer, Mary could be found in her swimming pool which was something she worked hard to be able to have. She adored her grandchildren and great grandboys, always happy to spoil them. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Thomas Leon Tucker Sr. Mary is survived by her daughter Melinda Lee Rice and her husband William; son Thomas Leon Tucker Jr.; grandchildren Ashley, Robert, and Sarah; great grandchildren Jayden and Jaxon; siblings Betty Woolery, Janet Case, Patricia McConnell, Max Baker, Frank Baker, Tom Baker and Bill Baker; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 from 4PM to 8PM with a Funeral Service at 7PM at the Raymond Funeral Service, P.A., 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, Maryland 20646. A private interment will be held at a later date at Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mary’s memory may be made to the Hospice of the Chesapeake, 2505 Davis Road, Waldorf, Maryland 20603.
