Juanita Lilly Boarman

Juanita Lilly Boarman of Newburg, MD passed away on Sunday April 9th at the age of 95. She died peacefully at her Newburg home surrounded by her family members. Born in 1927, in Chester, PA, Juanita was the daughter of the late James and Elsie Lilly. After the sudden loss oh her mother, Juanita was separated from her younger brother Johnny and raised by her maternal grandparents Joseph and Emma Johnson in Rock Point, MD. Juanita was a gentle soul and very devoted Catholic. Throughout her life and struggles of the aging process, she never lost her faith in God. In her later years, she visited the Holy Land and walked the path of Christ. This was a wonderous experience that she greatly treasured. Juanita was blessed with a beautiful voice and loved to sing in church choir. Juanita’s home parish was St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Rock Point, MD and its affiliated parish Holy Ghost Church in Issue, MD. She was also a member of Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Washington, D.C. Juanita was the matriarch of the Boarman Family. A kind and selfless person who always put everyone’s needs before her own. She was a devoted wife, a wonderful mother and the very essence which bonds a family together. This was a labor of love that she took very seriously and that she gradually passed on to her son’s wife Joanne, who was her companion and caregiver in her later years. Though Juanita has departed this life, her love and kindness will always remain in the hearts of those she touched. In addition to her parents, Juanita was preceded in death by her husband Francis “Carroll” Boarman, her granddaughter Rita Brennan and her brother Johnny Lilly. She is survived by her daughters Carol Ann Frere (Eddie), Nena Brennan (Marty) and her son Wayne Boarman (Joanne), her seven grandchildren Barbara, Diana, Laura and Austin Boarman, Ian, Leah and Liam Brennan, her two great grandchildren Aurora and Meadow Donoho and her nieces Susan Brown, Sharon LeGore and nephew Larry Lilly. Services will be held at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 15848 Rock Point Road Newburg, MD 20664. Viewing from 10:00AM to 11AM followed by a mass of Christian burial 11:00AM. Interment will be at the Church Cemetery on Swan Point Road. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Holy Ghost Catholic Church Issue, 15848 Rock Point Road, Newburg, Maryland.
