George Timothy Estevez

George Timothy Estevez, lovingly known as Timmy, was born August 1, 1983 to Tim and Mary Beth McGlynn-Estevez. He grew up on a farm in Waldorf, MD where he enjoyed exploring the outdoors and playing with his sister and many cousins. He loved riding bikes, go-carts, playing in the “woods” and swimming. Timmy was a handsome and curious boy who loved adventures and got along with everyone. He was an exceptional Lego builder and had childhood dreams of becoming an architect. Timmy graduated from Westlake High School in 2001. During high school, Tim worked at Chick-fil-A and developed many positive customer services and business skills. Tim was president of the Build a Dream Foundation in high school. This group helped build homes for people every two years. At that time, Tim still wanted to explore a career as an architect. He studied drafting and worked with R. L. Litten Associates Architects in La Plata, MD for a brief time. After a short time, Tim knew that wasn’t the field for him and he started his esteemed banking career at the Bank of Southern Maryland, as a teller. Through his dedication and hard work, he was successfully promoted to various other positions within other banks including head teller, assistant manager, and branch manager. In addition to the Bank of Southern Maryland, his career led him to work at Old Line Bank, PNC and Community Bank of the Chesapeake. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Management Studies from the University of Maryland University College in 2015. In 2016, Tim graduated from the prestigious Maryland Banking School sponsored by the Maryland Bankers Association. Tim and his family were extremely proud of these educational accomplishments. Tim was a very loving, kind, generous and thoughtful man who truly cared about others and their well-being. He was very involved in civic activities and serving others through his years of work with the Kiwanis Club of Waldorf which he joined in 2005 and currently served on the Board as Treasurer of the Kiwanis Club of Waldorf Foundation. He was also in the Knights of Columbus. Tim’s dream of living and working near the beach became a reality in the fall of 2023 when he moved to Rehoboth Beach and worked as the Business Banking Development Manager with Shore United Bank. He was extremely excited and grateful for this opportunity. The daily smile on his face was proof of this. He enjoyed meeting new people, networking with local businesses and helping others build their dreams. He continued that passion for serving others by supporting these businesses and non-profits as they achieved their visions, goals and dreams. Outside of work, he loved being with family and hanging by the pool in the summer. He often took solo trips to various beaches and Las Vegas! His last big adventure was in Las Vegas, last summer, where Tim, his sister, Liz and their mother, Mary Beth celebrated his turning 40 in style! It was a memorable trip for all! Tim’s smile would light up the room. He had a charismatic personality, great sense of humor and enjoyed all that life had to offer. Tim is survived by his mother, Mary Beth McGlynn; father, Timothy Estevez (Lisa), sister, Liz Newell (Charlie); step-sisters Julianna Rosasco and Lauren Ross (Ryan) and step-brother, Joe Rosasco (Kristen). Uncle Timmy was especially adored by his nephews Mason and Jaxon Newell whom he affectionately referred to as “My Mason and My Jaxon”. Uncle Tim loved playing with his niece and nephews Gideon, Marcee, Jaymee Rosasco, Deacon and Jude Ross. 6-week-old Hudson Ross was able to meet Uncle Tim for the first-time last week and that brought a huge smile to Tim’s face. Tim passed away on March 24, 2024 after a very brief battle with cancer. Tim’s memory and legacy will continue through his family and friends. A celebration of Life will take place on Sunday April 14, 2024 from 2PM-5PM at St. Mary's Newport Catholic Church 11555 St. Mary's Church Road Charlotte Hall, MD 20622.
