Edward Dee Wareham

Edward (Ed) Dee Wareham, 75, of Indian Head, Maryland, passed away peacefully at his residence on May 8, 2026. Born on March 26, 1951, in La Plata, Maryland, Ed was the son of the late Vada Bernadine (O’Neal) Wareham and Ray Clinton Wareham. Following high school, Ed proudly served his country in the United States Army. He later built a successful career as an engineer with the Marriott Corporation, where he worked for many years before retirement. A true outdoorsman and sportsman, Ed found great joy in fishing, hunting, and spending time in nature. He was a proud member of the Southern Maryland Hunt Club and was happiest when drinking his coffee surrounded by family, friends, and the outdoors he loved so much. Ed was a man who could build or fix just about anything. Gifted with his hands, he enjoyed woodworking, carpentry, upholstery, drapery work, drywall, and countless other trades. Whether working on a project in the garage or lending a helping hand to someone in need, he took pride in creating things that would last. He also had a deep love for his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and the freedom of the open road. Above all else, Ed cherished his family. He shared a beautiful and devoted 42-year marriage with the love of his life, Diana Rae (Ouellette) Wareham. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, unwavering support, and countless memories. Their bond was evident to everyone who knew them — they were truly best friends and partners in every sense of the word. In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his brothers-in-law, Johnny Hare and Hugo Lopez. He is survived by his devoted wife Diana Wareham; son, James Wareham (Nicole Defayette); daughter, Rachel Wareham; grandson, Aidan Cobos; granddaughter, Josephine Wareham; brother, Terry Wareham (Cindy); and sisters, Linda Goode (Norman), Caroline Hare, and Joyce Lopez. Above all, Ed treasured the close relationships he shared with his children. Rachel was always her father’s girl, sharing a special bond filled with love, laughter, and understanding throughout his life, while he and James shared many of the same passions, especially their love of hunting, fishing, motorcycles, and the outdoors, creating countless memories together over the years. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 10, 2025, from 10:00 AM until time of reflections at 12:00 PM, at Raymond Funeral Service. Interment will immediately follow at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery at 1:45 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Ed’s memory may be made to the Dementia Society of America, Hospice of Charles County, or by planting a tree in his honor.
