Eddene Louise Miller

Eddene Louise Miller Holder. was born on December 28, 1928 in Red Tank, Canal Zone (Republic of Panama) to the late James Holder Pyle and Inez Clementine Hunte. She departed this earthly life and entered into eternal rest on April 13, 2020. Mrs. Miller married James N. Miller and lived in Rio Abajo, Panama for most of their 32 years of marriage. Although she hoped for several children, the Lord only blessed her with one son, Delano. On the other hand, her beloved sister, Inez Smith, had ten children which she helped raise. They are all still alive and well today. She was a proud graduate of the Santa Familia School where in addition to a good education she was able to refine her sewing skills. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Christian Mission Church along with many of her family members. She was very active with the Sunday School, Young Peoples Group and the choir. Eddene immigrated to the United States in 1987 after the death of her husband. She initially settled in Lake City, Florida and then moved to several cities in the US accompanying her son who was on active duty in the military. During her time in Bel Air, MD she joined the Harford County Senior Center. In a short period of time, she became an integral part of that center where she made many friends. After another move, she became a member of the Waldorf Senior Center. Once again, she became a mainstay at this center for over 19 years. At this center, the managers gave her the responsibility of running the concession operation. She did such a good job; no other member of the center was allowed to do it. Eddene was preceded in death by her parents James Holder and Inez Clementine Hunte; her husband James N. Miller; sister Inez Smith, brothers Arthur and James Holder. Her memory will be celebrated and cherished by her son Delano Miller (Sandra); brother Captain Earl Holder; grandchildren Gregory Miller (Qiana), Janell Miller-Hutchens (Landon), Icess Floyd and Janita Ervin (Ryan); great grandchildren Olivia Miller, Christian Proctor, Liam Ervin and Micah Miller; many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Eddene will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved her.
