Betty Lee Puffenbarger

Betty Lee Puffenbarger of Indian Head, MD died on August 30, 2013 at Genesis La Plata Center. She was 87 years old. She was a homemaker and was a member of Nanjemoy Baptist Church. She read the Bible every morning and enjoyed word search puzzle books and sun catchers. She loved baking, especially Paul Bunyon Cookies, peanut butter fudge, potato candy, and cooked sauce for potato salad. She is the daughter of the late Douglas Wright and the late Nellie Porter Wright. She is also predeceased by her husband, William Robert Puffenbarger; her sisters, Thelma Blank, Helen Smith, and Ruth Martin; one daughter, Carol Ann Puffenbarger; and one son, William Bruce Puffenbarger. She is survived by one daughter, Sandra “Sandy” Kay Chapman; one son, James Robert “Bob” Puffenbarger and his wife Brenda; five grandsons, Gerald “David” Harrison, Jr. and his wife Tina, William Bruce “Pete” Puffenbarger, Jr. and his wife Tiffany, Craig Robert Chapman and his wife Rosie, James Robert “Bobby” Puffenbarger, Jr. and his wife Melissa, and Scott Owen and his wife Lucy; 11 great-grandchildren, Heather Harrison, Christina Harrison Epp, Jacky Harrison, Carrie Chapman, Caitlyn Chapman, Brianna Puffenbarger, Brittany Puffenbarger, Makaila Puffenbarger, Laura Puffenbarger, Faith Puffenbarger, and Rachel Puffenbarger; four step great-grandchildren, William Nalborczyk, Austin Collins, Daniel “Ray” Johnson, Jr., and Kyle Murray; two great-great grandchildren, Edward “Eddie” Epp and Angel Harrison; two nieces, Sharon Winebrenner and Nancy Winebrenner; and seven nephews, Pete Blank, Richard Blank, Butch Martin, Johnny Martin, Jimmy Martin, Joe Martin, and Billy Smith. Also survived by numerous in-laws and extended family members. Friends will be received on Thursday, September 5, 2013 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM with a Prayer Service at 7PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646. Funeral Service will be on Friday, September 6, 2013 at 11AM at Nanjemoy Baptist Church, 3030 Baptist Church Road, Nanjemoy, MD 20662. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Pallbearers: Gerald “David” Harrison, Jr., William Bruce “Pete” Puffenbarger, Jr., Craig Robert Chapman, James Robert “Bobby” Puffenbarger, Jr., Scott Owen Puffenbarger, and Tony Stinette.
