Barbara Gail Dunn

Barbara Gail Eller Dunn of Waldorf, MD passed away on October 14, 2024 at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. She was born on October 15, 1963 in Cheverly, MD to the late Ray and Emilie “Penny” Eller. Her affable personality was felt by all who met her. She had friends all over the coast and once she learned your name, she wouldn’t hesitate to tell you that she loved you. Barbara was an avid crocheter and loved her “Redskins” (don’t call them the Commanders around her). She was very involved in the Blue Crabs Baseball Booster Club, including being the treasurer for a number of years. In her youth, she was involved in the Waldorf Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, and later, the Waldorf Rescue Squad. She met the love of her life, Ray, got married, and moved to Buffalo, New York for a couple of years. Barbara couldn’t live without her family though, and moved back to Southern Maryland, where she remained for the rest of her life. Barbara held various jobs throughout her life. She started her career as a dental assistant within a dental group. She then became an administrative assistant for a Lawyer’s Office for a number of years. More recently, Barbara held several positions at Charles Regional Medical Center, with her favorite being a patient advocate. She is survived by her husband Raymond Dunn; two loving children, Sarah and Adam Dunn; her two granddaughters, Lily and Piper Farrell; her dear siblings Debbie DeMarr (Pete DeMarr), Ray “Marty” Eller (Denise Eller), and Donna Kaufmann (Roger Burroughs). Barbara left behind many nieces and nephews, as well as numerous “adopted” children who all stayed with or came to love her as another mother. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Penny Eller, as well as her brother, Steve Eller. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Raymond Funeral Service in La Plata, MD. Visitation hours will be Sunday, October 20th from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, with prayer service at 7:00 PM. The funeral mass will be held on Monday October 21st, 11:00 AM at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Waldorf, MD. Repast will follow the service at Waldorf Volunteer Fire Department, Station 3, in Waldorf, MD. Pallbearers will be Adam Dunn, Andrew Jenkins, Jason Eller, Greg and Zach Barnhart, and Josh Jenkins.
