Alicia Catrina Mobley-Russell

Alicia Catrina Mobley-Russell, 51, of Waldorf, MD passed away on January 8, 2021. Alicia Catrina was born on May 18, 1969 to Carolyn and Norman Mobley in Washington DC. At the age of 9, Alicia excitedly became an older sister to Melissa Fatima. These sisters were so connected they could communicate without words, if they were in the same room, they always knew what the other one was thinking. Alicia and Melissa maintained a strong bond and have a host of cherished memories. Alicia graduated from Dunbar Senior High School in 1987. In 1988, Alicia began working for the Internal Revenue Services, where she stayed for more than thirty years. On November 19, 2004 Alicia joined to her life to her beloved husband, Marc Anthony Russell. Alicia and Marc’s romance was unending and they loved each other fervently. From this union, Alicia gained two children of her heart, Alena JéNeale Russell and Markeit Hilton Anthony Dickens. With these two adventurous spirits already, Alicia and Marc welcomed two children of their own, Sydney Tremaine Alexis Russell and Michael Christopher Anthony Russell. Alicia’s family wasn’t yet complete as in 2016, she welcomed and cared for the grandson of her heart, Markeit Hilton Anthony Dickens, Jr. Alicia’s greatest joy was her family. Her dedication to her family was marked by her ability to listen to understand and give advice without judgment. Alicia’s kindness and dedication to others is evident in the way people speak of her. Alicia was known for her strong faith and love of Facebook memes. Alicia loved to laugh and had a tendency to laugh harder at her own jokes than anyone else. Alicia enjoyed everything green including nail polish, clothing, and even pistachios. She could be seen taking selfies with her daughter Sydney, at any and every event or for no reason at all. The best memories of her children are her butterfly kisses, having long-rambling talks, her hugs and her ready smile. We will never forget her eternal patience and loving understanding. Alicia will be greatly missed and her life celebrated. Alicia was preceded in death by her parents, Carolyn and Norman Mobley, maternal grandparents, Edith and Nathaniel Ross, paternal grandparents, Norman L Mobley and Ardelia Burley-Jackson. Alicia is survived by her beloved husband, Marc, her children: Michael, Sydney, Markeit, and Alena, grandson, Markeit Jr., her sister, Melissa (Jay), nieces, Kimani, Naeleece, Mature, nephew, Marquis, Aunt, Janice, her Godmother, Armitcher Delaney, and a host of cousin and friends.
