William F. Bill / Bizkit Hardesty Jr.

William F. Hardesty, Jr. (Bill/Bizkit) was joined with his heavenly father on August 31, 2024. After years of struggling with end stage kidney disease, Bill was tired, and his body gave out. He leaned on his faith and fought hard till the end. Bill was born January 20th, 1962, to Barbara L. Shelton and the late William Franklin Hardesty, Sr. Bill was raised in Dentsville, MD, growing up on his family farm. At the time of his death, he was residing in Mechanicsville, MD. Bill was a Charles County native. In his youth, he enjoyed playing Little League and participating in 4-H. He graduated from La Plata High School in 1980. During his high school years, Bill played on the Varsity football team. It was around that time that he developed his love of motorcycles. He loved all things Harley Davidson and riding with the wind at his back. After high school, Bill worked several jobs, including construction. Later he secured a position with the Charles County Detention Center. After many years there, Bill ended his career as the Charles County Public Works Building and Trades Maintenance Superintendent. Bill was a man of great faith and was proud to share that with others. Above all, Bill loved God, his children, his family and his abundant group of friends. Friends often referred to him as a “Gentle Giant”, a “Big Teddy Bear” and one who “walked the walk and talked the talk”. He was one to freely share advice and express how God had blessed him. He shared the word on a daily basis to his friends across the country. He made lifelong friends and left an impression on each of them. Bill was also a member of the St. Columba Masonic Temple #150 Fraternal Organization in La Plata, MD. Bill is survived by his mother, Barbara L. Shelton (Sue) and three amazing children, son Justis B. Hardesty, daughters Mylee Rose Hardesty and Kayla Faith Thompson. Additionally, he is survived by his sister Susie Hardesty, girlfriend Robin Goetz and was Pa Pa to Aiden, Aspen, Nikolai, Lailah, and Gianni. He was Godfather to Summer Wilson, which brought him great pride. Bill’s children were his world and he was so very proud of each of them. To his extensive group of family and friends, everyone should be as lucky as Bill was. YOU GUYS ROCK! God Bless Bill and those of us left to carry on. A visitation will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024 from 10AM until time of service at 12Noon at the Raymond Funeral Service, P.A., 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, Maryland 20646. Interment will be private.
