Marshall Allen King

Marshall A. King August 15, 1946 – October 30, 2021 Marshall A. “Joe” King, 75, was called home to be with our Lord October 30, 2021. He was born in Mecklenburg Co., Charlotte, NC. He was a graduate of James A. Gray H.S., Winston-Salem, NC. He joined the Marine Corps and served active duty from 1965 to 1971 at which time he was honorably discharged. He is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia A. King, children, Jeffrey D. King, wife Lisa, Michelle D. Bryant, husband Matthew, Ryan A. King, wife Erica and grandchildren Raechel G. King, Morgan A. Bryant, Vanessa E., Micah King and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents and sister, Sandra K. Norris. His career spanned over 50 plus years during which he loved and dedicated his efforts to providing professional landscaping and maintenance services to commercial and residential clients. He was currently employed as a landscape, maintenance supervisor with Maple Hill Lawn & Garden, Ft. Washington, MD. In addition to his career, Marshall led a very active life of service as a member and volunteer to many organizations including Lions Club International, The Elks Lodge and The Boy Scouts of America. He was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed baseball, basketball, football, and hockey. His Love of Car Racing, fishing, Country and Gospel Music was only surpassed by his Love for Christ, Family, Friends and Community. Family and friends will be received on Friday, November 12, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Raymond Funeral Service, P.A., 5635 Washington Ave., La Plata, MD 20646. A Memorial Service will be on Saturday, November 13, 2021 from 1:00 PM until time of Celebration of Life at 2:00 PM at The Worship Center, 3075 Livingston Road, Bryans Road, MD 20616, 301-375-8655, www.TheWorshipCenter.org. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his honor to the following organizations of your choosing which Joe actively served for many years in the Southern Maryland community: The Worship Center Where Jesus Makes Good Things Happen, 3075 Livingston Road, Bryans Road, MD 20616 OR Lions Camp Merrick, PO Box 56, Nanjemoy, MD 20667.
