Danny Clark Jones

With a deep sense of sorrow and loss, our family announces the passing of Danny “Dan” Clark Jones on Wednesday, November 13th, 2024. Danny “Dan” Clark Jones was born April 30th, 1945, to Arthur Vernon Jones and Roberta Ruth Addison Jones in Knox, Texas. His family moved to California where he graduated from South High School in 1962. Upon graduating, Dan served in the US Navy (honorably discharged in 1969), and he later married on December 31st, 1965. Dan began his career as a graphic artist in 1975 with the Federal Government and later became Executive Dean, Office of Learning, and Information Technologies at Coastline Community College where he was instrumental in forming a language arts program between China and the United States. During his career he was the recipient of a presidential award, AVA and Aurora awards, multiple Emmy awards as well as other awards in educational film prior to retiring in 2014. Danny earned his Associates, bachelor’s, and master’s Degree. Preceded by his Parents, Aruthur Vernon Jones, and Roberta Ruth Addison Jones; Sister, Patsy Jo Leibert Hunter; Brother, AV Junior; Grandson, Travis Roland Kelam; Niece, Darsey Kuster Vidler; and Great Granddaughter, Jupiter Hope Burch. Survived by his Wife, Nancy Alice Robins Jones; Brother, Addison Jones (Cyndi Maijala); Daughters, Shawn Renae Jones (Anthony Tononi), and Shaye Rayna Jones; and his very spoiled and beloved pets Coco and Mocha Nieces; Karen Edwards Kuster, Jennifer Erfurth (Danny Erfurth), Alexis Byrd (Billy Byrd), Chelsea Rhoads, Allina Kelly Addison Jones, Chantille Leibert, Kayla Vidler, Amelia Jones, and Addison Jones Nephews; Frank Leibert, Larry Scott Kuster (Kelly Hooper), Aaron Daniel Mahoney Jones (Amanda Jones), and Logan Vidler. Grandchildren, Richard “Ricky” Zagrodnichek (Bethany Gibson), Tiffany Tononi (Michael Burch), Thomas L Kelam, Jr (Jessica Schmidt), Tyler D Kelam (Salena Tackett), Victoria Tononi (Curtis McFadden), Tonae Tononi (Isaiah Soto) and Talie Alice Bagley. Great grandchildren, Damion Burch (Cheyanne Cote-Burch), Emmaleigh Zagrodnichek, Bryce Kelam, Gryphon Kelam, Tripp Kelam, Kai Kelam, Dannika Burch, Elizabeth “Gus” Zagrodnichek, Mya Forsythe, Nova Rae Kelam, Dana Palmer, Emily Palmer, Leo Daniel Sheffler, and Great-Great grandchild, Phoenix Burch. A Memorial gathering will be on Friday, November 22nd, 2024, from 10am until time of service at 12Noon at the Raymond Funeral Service, P.A., 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, Maryland 20646 In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or The National Art Education Foundation (NAEF) in honor of Dan C Jones. www.donate.cancer.org www.arteducators.org
